Needle Insertion

Here’s the deal with acupuncture – by the time you are ready for acupuncture you may have exahausted all your options and you are desperate (or maybe not). The thing is, as far as I can tell, is that patients come to me beacuse they are in pain. Now the real question you have to ask yourself is – Is the pain I’m feelingĀ  going to over ride any real or imagined objections to getting a needle stuck in me by a stranger?

Maybe you are one of these people who hate to take medication or you tried the medication and you don’t like the side effects. Then acupuncture is for you.

Maybe the thought of needles gives you the willies. Rest assured the needles are about the diameter of 2 of your hairs. Very thin and virtually painless on insertion.

I’ll be honest with you – I tried acupuncture well before I was a student. In Florida, if you have been in a car accident your PIP insurance will cover it. since I had nothing to loose and one of my friends worked for a local acupuncturist I decided to try it and guess what! It wasn’t so bad. Eventually I wound up in acupuncture school and to my amazement did quite well.

try it you’ll like it!

If you are about my age (a perpetual 38..ahem) then you may remember an old commercial for Alka-seltzer. The slogan was “Try it, you’ll like it.”

Well, that slogan applies to acupuncture quite nicely. Only, with acupuncture you won’t experience drug induced side effects and if you do feel better then maybe it’s just a coincidence, or is it?
